Binge Announces True Crime Drama based on Brenden Abbott, the ‘Postcard Bandit’

Yesterday Binge announced filming is underway on their new series based on the life story of Western Australin bank robber and prison escapee Brenden Abbott, dubbed locally as the ‘Postcard Bandit’.

The series is based on Derek Pedley’s book Australian Outlaw – The True Story of Postcard Bandit Brenden Abbott, which was developed for television by Matt Cameron, who is also part of the writing team.

Filming is currently taking place in Perth and Fremantle with our client’s, director of photography Edward Goldner and ensemble cast member Oscar Redding, also on board the production.

In the 1980s Abbott became a household name, committing a string of bank robberies and evading police, eventually being arrested, convicted and successfully escaping custody - twice.
