James Croke


James has written a number of spec elevated-genre scripts which have attracted local and international attention for the past several years. His conceptual sci-fi script Solitary progressed to the Quarterfinals Round of the 2011 Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, the Fellowship run by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. The script has been optioned by Porchlight Films and is currently at financing stage.

James had another script selected for the Nicholl Fellowship, sci-fi/action feature Harvester, which went through to the Semifinals in 2012.  James is currently developing the period horror Hamelin, the sci-fi/thrillers Coercion, Code and the TV concept Vision.

James’ short film Shift, which he wrote, directed and produced, was invited to screen at a number of film festivals worldwide including Cinequest, Boston Science Fiction Film Festival and Irvine International Film Festival.  A feature version of the short is also in development.
