Jesse Blackadder

Jesse is an award-winning Australian author of novels for adults and kids, an emerging screenwriter, a public speaker, literacy advocate, and a freelance journalist. She has studied creative writing at university (along with film and photography) when she completed a BA (Communication) at the University of Technology Sydney. She has also completed a Master of Applied Science (Social Ecology) and a Doctor of Creative Arts at the University of Western Sydney.

Her four novels for adults are: After the Party (Hardie Grant Books 2005); The Raven’s Heart (Fourth Estate, 2011); Chasing the Light (Fourth Estate, 2013) and Sixty Seconds (Fourth Estate, 2017). Her hree children’s novels are: Stay: The Last Dog in Antarctica (HarperCollins, 2013); Paruku: The Desert Brumby (HarperCollins, 2014) and Dexter: The Courageous Koala (HarperCollins, 2015).
