Joan is a prolific writer with credits spanning Television, Film and Books.

For Television, Joan has just wrapped up writing two episodes for Ladies in Black for Bunya and the ABC. Based on the hit film of the same name, the series is currently in post production. She is also developing her own series for producer Amanda Crittenden. Joan’s recent credits include TV series Wakefield produced by Jungle Entertainment for ABC in 2021.

For Film, Joan is currently developing The Haunting of Mary Todd with Animal Logic. Additionally, she is developing The Musician by Kim Morduant for producers Brian Rosen and Su Armstrong.

Joan is also a dynamic script editor / producer of both TV and Film, having worked with companies that include Fremantle, Jungle Entertainment, Revolver, Made Up Stories and SBS on projects that include Rake, The Principal, 100 Bloody Acres, The Babadook, Ladies in Black, Swag and Lawyer X.

Joan is a prolific author with 15 titles published. Her most recent novel Echo Lake was published by Allen and Unwin in 2023. Joan also regularly consults for Screen Australia.
