Internationally regarded, Mat has directed celebrated and award-winning television series in Australia and The UK, with two series currently on air: Return to Paradise (BBC Studios Australia for ABC/BBC) and Human Error (Roadshow Rough Diamond for the Nine Network).
Mat’s career was established in the UK on British series including Doctor Who, DCI Banks, and several seasons of Law & Order: UK. Since returning to Australia Mat has directed many acclaimed television series including Pine Gap for Netflix, the acclaimed Foxtel series Wentworth, as well as the award-winning Bloom for Stan. Mat has directed on multiple seasons of the romantic comedy The Wrong Girl, episodes of Underbelly: Razor, House Husbands, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, My Life is Murder, How to Stay Married and the US series Hunters.
As founder and executive producer of The Fiction Bureau, Mat is developing series with authorial voices new to television and film which he will produce with major international production companies. He is Melbourne based.
