Max Mannix is an experienced screenwriter and director with strong ties to Asia. His features include Family Matters (dir Masahide Ichii); Rain Fall starring Gary Oldman and Kippei Shiina (also directed); Tokyo Sonata (dir. Kyoshi Kurosawa) Winner Un Certain Regard at Cannes, Winner Grand Jury Prize at Chicago Film Festival, Best Screenplay Asian Film Awards and Official Selection Toronto, Sydney and New York Film Festivals, and Dance of the Dragon (co-writer & co-director), which was the Winner Best Film & Jury Award at West Hollywood Film Festival 2008.

In television Max has written an episode of Australia on Trial for Essential Media/ABC and the four part series the The Tokyo Trial for Japan’s NHK.

He’s currently working on The Oracles of War and the Southern Feudatories, a Chinese feature film to be produced by Eriko Miyagawa.
