Production Designer/Costume & Set Designer
Nick is a production designer and art director for film and television, and a set and costume designer for theatre.
For film and television, Nick was the production designer of Down Under, art director on Wrecked, assistant art director on Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, Alien: Covenant, and The Dressmaker, and set designer on Hacksaw Ridge, San Andreas, Unbroken, and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. He’s currently the production designer on the feature film Nekromancer, directed by Kiah Roache-Turner, and produced by Andrew Mason, Troy Lum, and Tristan Roache-Turner.
Nick has also had a terrific career in theatre. Notable credits include; associate designer for Global Creatures’ King Kong and How to Train Your Dragon, and Gordon Frost Organisation’s Calendar Girls and, together with Backrow Productions, Priscilla The Musical.
Nick has also set and costume designed for a range of theatre productions in the commercial, subsidised and independent sectors. His recent credits include: Associate Designer on How to Train Your Dragon and King Kong for Global Creatures; Associate Designer on Calender Girls and Designer on hit Sydney Festival show Smoke and Mirrors, which went onto Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival and won him a Sydney Theatre award nomination for Best Costume Design.
Other credits include set and costume design for Lovesong (Melbourne Theatre Company); Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Showtune Productions); The Emperor of Sydney, The Marvellous Boy and The Woman With Dog’s Eyes (Griffin Theatre Company); and Halpern and Johnson, Trying, They’re Playing Our Song and Losing Louis (Ensemble Theatre Company). And set design for The Pillowman (Belvoir Street Theatre) – for which Nick was nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Set Design –; Mary Stuart (Ensemble Theatre); and Honour Bound (Sydney Opera House).
