Check Out New Australian Plays 'Hedda' and 'Lamb'

Do yourself a favour and go see these two new Australian plays - Melissa Bubnic's re-imagining of Ibsen’s play Hedda and Jane Bodie’s Lamb.

In Hedda Melissa gives us a local version of the Henrik Ibsen classic that is as dangerous and surprising as its heroine. A Queensland Theatre Company production directed by Paige Rattray, Hedda has been called “sexy and confronting” and a “clever idea that works a treat” by the Courier Mail. While Hush Hush Biz calls it “a tight, taught and terrific 100 minutes of edge-of-the-seat contemporary theatre.”

The play is showing at the Bille Brown Theatre in Brisbane until the 8th of December. To get more information or purchase tickets follow this link.

Jane’s Lamb is the story of one family on an Australian sheep farm, over generations – the guilt of those who left and the lost desires of those who stayed behind. A Red Stitch production directed by Julian Meyrick, The Daily Review calls it “a fragile, beautiful piece” while Australian Stage says “Lamb highlights just how good, good writing can be.”

The play is showing at the Red Stitch Theatre in Melbourne until the 13th of December. To get more information and purchase tickets follow this link.
