In ‘Big Heart’ Patricia Cornelius Explores Australian Identity, Multiculturalism and A Mother’s Love

Currently staging its premiere season at Theatre Works in Melbourne, Big Heart is the latest offering from celebrated Australian playwright Patricia Cornelius.

An examination of privilege, racism, multiculturalism and the complex relationship between mother and child, Big Heart tells the story of a wealthy woman who adopts five children, one from each of the continents, in the belief she can give them a better life.

Crafted with nuance and keen insight, Cornelius executes a carefully stitched critique of Australian identity in her most recent collaboration with director Susie Dee.

Big Heart runs from 6th of September until the 24th of September.
